Designed by Lisa Schultz and Ross Hammond, June is a sans serif font family. This typeface has sixteen styles and was published by Schriftlabor.

June is a Neo-Grotesque sans-serif font family which has been designed with legibility, readability and dignity in mind. These characteristics have been optimised for both screen and print of all sizes. June was intentionally designed to be conventional in its appearance, but it has characteristics that are more visible at larger scales. These do not affect the legibility and readability of the typeface in smaller texts, yet make it more recognisable in its appearance.

June is genuine, respectable, honest, and the typeface portrays these qualities in a variety of weights. Some of the distinguishable characteristics of June include a large x-height and large counters, these both increase the negative space within a text, making it easier to distinguish the shape of each individual letter. Lineal/uniform strokes, considerable character spacing, and italics angled at 8 degrees.

To create a visual appearance and a sense of dissimilarity and distinctness, the italics have been completely redesigned to make an aesthetic difference which generates a change of style within a text. Some of the contrasts include a one tier ‘a’, straight tail on ‘y’, crossbar on the letter ‘e’ is slanted, and all the spurs have been removed apart from ‘r’.

Road Picture JNL Road Picture JNL was modeled after the hand lettered title and credits for the 1940 Bob Hope-Bing Crosby semi-musical comedy “Road to Singapore”, and is available in both regular and oblique versions. Although the lettering design doesn’t resemble anything that was probably used in Singapore at the time, its faux “exotic” look still makes for an interesting revival. Bob Hope and Bing Crosby made a total of seven “road” pictures, hence the homage in the name of this type font. Road Picture JNL Download Now View Gallery
